Motor Envy: The Range Rover is one of the best luxury cars in the world. Fact.

Capable and comfortable in equal measure.

What’s this then?

This is the Land Rover Range Rover, a luxurious SUV with plenty of tech onboard. This particular 2017 example in Vogue trim can be yours for €94,900.

What’s so special about it?

The Range Rover is like a Bentley wearing hiking boots – luxurious, refined but rugged and ready to tackle all terrain. It is one of the best and most capable luxury cars money can buy.

Any standout design features?

This particular Vogue model is finished in Loire Blue metallic paint and features front fog lights, rear LED lights, Xenon headlamps with signature lighting, privacy glass and a body coloured full size sliding panoramic roof. There are power folding mirrors and a power tailgate. It sits on top of 21-inch seven split-spoke alloys with silver finish.

And what powers this Range Rover?

This car is powered by a LR-TDV6 3.0-litre diesel unit with stop/start technology. This engine is mated to an eight-speed transmission with Terrain Response, which sends power to all four wheels. The engine produces 258hp and 600Nm of torque. The car accelerates 0-100km/h in 8 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 209km/h.

Does the Range Rover have any luxurious touches?

It is dripping with luxurious touches including a sumptuous ebony/ivory interior with Oxford leather seats, grand black lacquer wood finishers and a 380W Meridian audio system. It has heated electric memory seats with lumbar support, a 360-degree parking aid with reverse camera, onboard WiFi and it even has a DVD/TV and a fridge in the centre console.

But who would drive this car?

Someone who wants the best of the best. Who wants a capable workhorse that can go well off-road and tackle all terrain yet transport the whole family in the utmost comfort, luxury and style.
