THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE have marched today around the world in ‘Refugee Welcome’ demonstrations.

There was a good turnout of supporters in Dublin this afternoon, as people gathered at The Spire on Dublin’s O’Connell Street.

The marches, being held in Dublin and Galway as well as other cities such as London, Copenhagen and Glasgow, are urging governments to do more to help refugees who have been forced to flee their homes.

Ireland

This week it was announced that Ireland would take in over 4,000 refugees.

It is understood that some refugees in groups of 50 or 100 will arrive in Ireland within weeks.
