RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY PRICES dropped by 1.5 per cent in February, according to figures from the CSO.
Last month’s drop formed part of a larger decrease of 2.6 per cent for the year to date.
When taken in isolation, however, the February decrease was lower than in February 2012, when prices dropped by 2.2 per cent.
Residential property prices in Dublin fell by 0.3 per cent last month, but remained three per cent higher than a year ago.
Prices outside of the capital fell by 2.1 per cent in February compared with a decline of three per cent 12 months previously.
Overall decline
When compared with February 2007, house prices in Dublin have dropped by 55 per cent, with apartments having dropped by 59 per cent.
Elsewhere, the price of residential properties have dropped by 49 per cent over the same six-year period.
