Two men die as their cars collide in Mayo early this morning

The men aged 43 and 47 years were pronounced dead at scene of the crash in Ballinahaglish.

TWO MEN IN their 40s were killed when their cars collided in Co. Mayo in the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened at Ballinahaglish on the N26 Ballina to Foxford Road at about 4.50 AM this morning.

Both men were travelling alone in their vehicles at the time of the collision and no other persons were injured.

The men aged 43 and 47 years were pronounced dead at scene.

The deceased were removed to the mortuary at Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, where post-mortems will take place.

The N26 at Ballinahaglish is currently closed as gardaí investigate the scene and local diversions are in place.

Any witnesses to the collision are being asked to contact Ballina Garda Station on 096 2056o or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111.
