Garda appeal after man dies in fatal road accident

A 47-year-old man died after he was hit by a car at about 12.30 am last Sunday morning.

GARDAÍ ARE SEEKING witnesses after a fatal road traffic accident in which a man was killed.

A 47-year-old man died after he was hit by a car at about 12.30 am last Sunday morning.

The man was treated by emergency services following the accident but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The scene was closed off for a technical examination and the body was taken to the city mortuary.

Gardaí want to speak to the driver of a blue people carrier/MPV was stopped in the area of Shelbourne Road at the time of the accident.

The taxi stopped and let people out before driving off in the direction of Merrion Road.

Gardaí are appealing to the driver or the passengers of this taxi to contact Donnybrook Garda Station on 01-6669200 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
