Pedestrian dies crossing the road in Roscommon

Gardaí say they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Carrick Road in Boyle last night.

A MAN HAS died after he was fatally injured while crossing the road last night in Boyle, Co Roscommon.

Gardaí say they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Carrick Road last night at around 7.30pm.

The 65-year-old pedestrian was fatally injured when crossing the road.

The road was temporarily closed for a forensic examination of the scene but it has since been reopened.

Gardaí have asked that anyone with any information should contact Boyle Garda Station on 071 966 4620, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
