Young man dies after collision between motorcycle and lorry

A second male was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the incident, which happened in Derry.

A YOUNG MAN has has died following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a lorry in Derry.

The 19-year-old died from injuries he sustained in the incident, which happened on the Agivey Road in Aghadowey at about 5pm yesterday.

A second male was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are believed to be serious.

Inspector Ian Armour appealed to anyone who was travelling on the Agivey Road yesterday evening and may have witnessed this incident to contact the non-emergency number 101.

It is anticipated that the Agivey Road will remain closed for some time and motorists should seek alternative routes if possible.
