Mystery naked man seen entering Royal Canal

Thankfully, the emergency services report that he didn’t stay in long before he jumped back out.

A MAN WAS seen taking off his clothes and running up Dublin’s Guild Street before entering the nearby Royal Canal at Spencer Dock this evening.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene after receiving reports of the incident. The man is believed to have left the water without injury.

The Dublin Fire Brigade was alerted to the incident by a passing motorist, who said they saw the man jumping in before getting back out again.

Firefighters attended the scene but did not find the man in the water, and were satisfied that he had left the scene before their arrival.

Gardaí were also called to the scene, and didn’t leave until they too were happy that there was no one in the water.

It’s not known if the streaking and dip was a prank or carried out for another reason.

Do you have any clue as to why the man entered the canal?
