Ryanair flights cancelled over air traffic controllers strike tomorrow

Air traffic controllers in France are taking industrial action tomorrow, which will hit some flights in and out of Ireland.

FLIGHTS IN AND out of Ireland will be affected tomorrow as a result of industrial action by air traffic controllers in France.

Ryanair has cancelled 26 flights and warned that flight delays and further cancellations should be expected. Aer Lingus has also cancelled some flights which were due to depart or travel to France tomorrow afternoon.

Ryanair spokesperson Robin Kiely said the airline sincerely apologised to all passengers who have had travel plans disrupted, and said the strike by air traffic controllers was ‘unjustified’.

Ryanair said that passengers who have their flights cancelled can transfer their flights by contacting Ryanair’s reservation centre.

Around one third of flights at Paris’s airports are expected to be hit by the strike, according to the French aviation authority.

The strike was called by four major unions  in response to French president Francois Hollande’s proposal to cut business taxes and spending.

Passengers who are due to travel on Tuesday should check the status of their flight on the airline website before departing for the airport.
