I flew recently with Aer Lingus to London! I checked in on the mobile app on my iphone and I got a text with a barcode! I then handed my phone to the agent at the bag drop desk and again at security and that registered my booking!! Was so impressed..no need to print out a ticket anymore!!

Just use the site ffs, it’s mobile friendly!

I’m surprised O’Leary doesn’t charge apple as well

They have an app which is nice, if they want to charge for it thats their decision and if people don’t want to buy it thats fine too. Just think that if enough people don’t buy it then it was wasted money on their part,

I admire O Leary for his tough stances with the DAA and government but its one rip off after another.
An uncle was to fly this weekend from Liverpool to Dublin, all booked months ago. Ryanair pulled the return flight from their schedule and the took a canceallation fee off his credit card. There only other option was a flight at 6am which was booked out. So they have to cancel the trip. Thanks Mr O Leary.

To the ‘don’t like, don’t user’ suggesting individuals, they are practicing predatory pricing to get smaller market competitors to drop competing routes and trying to stage a hostile takeover of it’s only large direct competitor

If you type in m.ryanair.com into safari and you will get the exact same pages on your smartphone that the app has. . And then just bookmark the homepage to your phone and now you have exactly the same app that oleary is selling for €2.99

Just arrived in Berlin with an even more “exciting” than usual landing. Don’t think the missus wants to fly Ryanair anymore.

If you could use the phone for them for scan the boarding pass bar code from then id buy the app, im not sure if any airlines do this?

I flew with Ryanair on Sunday from Dublin to Madrid and one of the boarding staff name Adriana was barking at customers. I have never seen the likes of it. I’m never flying with them again.

The only thing I’m surprised at is that it doesn’t cost €2.99 and have a payment processing charge of €2

thats just fan dabbie dossy but no mention of your boarding pass .. u still need to get to a pc which involves a printer so renders it pointless unless i am sure they have thought this through

l don’t need to buy an app l can already do this on my phone …l would be more convinced if it was possible to access a boarding card rather than having to print one off Aer Lingus has this facility only its limited

if I had a choice I would fly aerlingus every time but nearest airport to me has only Ryanair that goes to Dublin so no real choice having said that Ryanair are successful & I would imagine Mr oleary does not lose a wink of slepp worrying about what people think of him when so many others continue to fly with him

Message to Ryanair. Lose MOL. Lose the dreadful customer relations stigma. Improve your PR profile. Grow some humanity. Have a modicum of compassion. And then Ryanair, you may become the greatest airline in the world. But until then, I will avoid you like the plague.

We practice what we call a “selective boycott” in my family. Companies such as Ryanair and Tesco are places of last resort for all of us. If we can easily buy elsewhere we always do, however we have no qualms about picking up bargains from either of those 2 suppliers. But only to suit ourselves.
Neither Ryanair or Tesco have done anything to acquire our loyalty or affection and will always be last choice.
It’s a very satisfying way of dealing with unpleasant company’s such as Ryanair or don’t-give-a-toss-about-the-Irish company’s such as Tesco

Don’t underestimate this (or MO’L). Ryanair has proven time and again that no bull***t policies and prohibitive charges can work if there is (even perceived) value for money in the service. Regular ryanair users will buy it.

Wait until the fleet carries on ageing a few more years. In a corporate culture of undercutting & testing the limits of regulations I guess it will come very apparent this guy will cost more than money…….

I never fly with Ryanair, so wouldn’t download the app even if it was free.

Tips for flying ryanair:
1. Book well in advance (obviously if possible)
2 Check in online and print boarding pass ( if you lose things maybe print 2 copies and pack them in separate places)
3 Get some flylight luggage which has a built in weighing scales and fits exactly into their luggage restrictions.
4 Dont check a bag if you can avoid it at all.
5 Have all liquids including toothpaste decanted into 100ml bottles and packed in a clear plastic bag.
6 Bring an ipad or netbook with a predownloaded movie and some noise excluding headphones or a set of earplugs and a good book!
7 If the emergency exit rows are free you can ask to sit in them if you dont have kids. They are not always reserved despite the signs.
8 Choose a seat as far away from children (as long as they are not yours) or drunk people (again as long as you are not supposed to be travelling with them) as possible.
9 Take out your prepacked sandwiches and crisps just before the trolley comes down.
10 Enjoy your flight! (despite O’Learys best efforts! )

They’ll have a 15 euro charge for air if you want to be able to breath during your flight soon.

You get what you pay for, and pay for what you get. At the end of the day, when booking a flight, especially short haul, I check out all carriers and then book the cheapest. I have never flown Aerlingus, except when the company books it.

People using other airlines’ “free” apps: you are paying for them dearly in ticket prices.

Also, the app is as cheap as your airport latte, it’s ridiculous to complain about the cost.

Why no Android version? Surely more Ryanair customers will have Anrdoid phones than iPhones?

if you do not like ryanair do not use them use other airlines don’t come on here slagging them off you have a choice as a consumer with ryanair if you are surprised with what you get you have obviously never heard of them or used them. what you see is what you get with them they are a private company and as such are out to maximize their profits with the lowest overheads possible if you don’t want the app don’t get it simple.and no i don’t work for ryanair i am a realist

Ryan air is a joke. You feel as if you should say goodbye to loved ones before stepping on a flight and whats up with all the foreigners dressed in those long blue while looking coats. Ive only ever been on it once but never again

Crap app!!

I flew Ryanair sometimes 4 times a week to Leeds/Bradford for years….on average for less than €10, there were times when I had to pay Aer Lingus €340, before they abandoned the route. The only problem I ever had was when the plane took off 20 minutes early without me. Wouldn’t have happened if I had checked in luggage. We are a nation of knockers.

If it’s difficult to spot and avoid the added O’Leary rip-offs on a bloody great big computer screen, how hard is it gonna be on a piddly little iPhone or whatever???

Just bought this app, IT’S 3 euro people! I dont have snobbery when it comes to flying just think with my pocket! Hope it be straight to the point and no ad-ons when booking a flight!
