Boy writes heart-wrenching note asking Santa to help catch the man who shot him

Christian Hickey and his mother Jayne were shot on the doorstep of their home in Manchester.

A SEVEN-YEAR-old boy who was shot in the leg has written a letter to Santa asking him to help police catch the people who hurt him.

Christian Hickey and his mother Jayne were shot on the doorstep of their home in Manchester after answering the door to two men.

One of the men fired a number of shots and both Christian and Jayne sustained leg injuries. After numerous surgeries they have left hospital but are still recovering.

In his letter to Santa, the seven-year-old placed a request to catch the two criminals at the top of his list.

He asked Santa to “help the police catch the people who hurt me”.

Manchester Police detective chief superintendent Russ Jackson said it is “heart-wrenching to know that a little boy who should be writing a list filled with exciting gifts has got this at the top of his Christmas list”.

“What happened to Christian will stay with him for the rest of his life but what we can do is try to make this up to him by finding those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
