The 34-year-old will appear before Cloverhill District Court at 10.30am today.

SAVERIO BELLANTE IS due to appear in court today in connection with the killing of Tom O’Gorman.

The 34-year-old with an address at Beechpark Avenue in Castleknock was charged with murder on Monday and was remanded in custody.

Bellante told Blanchardstown District Court that he would represent himself in proceedings.

The body of 39-year-old Tom O’Gorman, who owned the house where Bellante was a lodger, was discovered in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The killing is believed to have happened after a disagreement over a chess game.
