Search for missing fisherman off Cork coast

One man managed to raise alarm on shore after the ship he and another person were aboard capsized this morning.

THE NAVY, COAST GUARD AND local fishing boats are all involved in the search for a fisherman missing in the Ringabella Bay area off the Cork coast after his vessel capsized this morning.

Cork’s 96FM reports that the alarm was raised at around 11am after the missing man’s companion swam from the sinking vessel to the shore.

The missing fisherman is understood to be from Crosshaven, but has not been named, TV3 reports.

The naval ship the LE Emer and a coast guard helicopter are participating in the search.
