Second day of Chinese VP's visit to focus on agriculture and tourism

Xi Jinping will visit a dairy farm, see the Cliffs of Moher and take in a Riverdance show today – before signing an international trade contract aimed at enhancing relations between Ireland and China tomorrow.

THE SECOND DAY of an official visit by China’s Vice President Xi Jinping will focus on agriculture and tourism – with visits to a dairy farm and the Cliffs of Moher.

Xi, who has a background in agriculture, will visit Lynch’s farm in Sixmilebridge in Co Clare this morning in order to see some of the advanced technologies being used there, RTÉ reports.

In the afternoon, the delegation will visit the Cliffs of Moher to assess the appeal of Irish scenery to Chinese tourists. Xi will then travel to Croke Park to see an exhibition of hurling and Gaelic football.

This evening, the Vice President will meet the Taoiseach for dinner at Dublin Castle before finishing off the night with a Riverdance show.

Xi will tomorrow sign an international trade contract aimed at enhancing relations between Ireland and China, the Sunday Business Post reports.

Ireland is the only country in Europe being visited by the Chinese delegation.
