Severed arm victim's 'death like Silence of the Lambs'

The brother of James Nolan, whose arm was found on Dollymount Strand, has spoken out about his sibling’s death.

THE BROTHER OF rapist James Nolan, whose arm was found on a Dublin beach, has compared his death to the horror movie Silence of the Lambs.

Last month gardaí found James Nolan’s limb - which was missing his hand and a tattoo – washed up on Dollymount Strand in Dublin.

DNA tests revealed that the arm came from James Nolan, and it is believed that he may have been killed and his body chopped up and dumped into the Irish Sea.

The Irish Sun today carries an interview with his brother Robert Nolan, 45, who took part in a brutal gang rape alongside James and a friend.

He told the paper that his brother’s death was “ten times more horrific” than his previous crimes, and compared it to a scene in Silence of the Lambs.

James Nolan was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the gang rape of a 22 year old woman in 1986. Last year, he was released from the Midlands Prison after serving 18 months of a three-year term for burglary, and went missing shortly afterwards.

Gardaí are still searching for the rest of his body and have been conducting sea searches.
