Poll: Would you ban US military aircraft from stopping at Shannon entirely?

Independent TD and Minister of State John Halligan says that he would “absolutely” ban such aircraft if it was up to him.

YESTERDAY, IT EMERGED that Junior Minister and Waterford TD John Halligan is personally opposed to the use of Shannon Airport by US military aircraft.

Halligan said that, were it up to him, he would instate a “total ban” on such activity.

“Absolutely. If I had my way, I wouldn’t let them land there at all,” he said in an interview with Hotpress.com.

The airport has been used by the US military since 2002 for their flights en route to the middle east since 2002. But is it time that changed?

We’re asking: Would you ban US military aircraft from using Shannon Airport?
