Shocked tourists witness battle in London's Trafalgar Square that leaves three in hospital

The famous square was the scene of battles between rival European gangs according to reports.

TOURISTS AT ONE OF the UK’s best known attractions looked on in horror as youths staged a pitched battle that left three people in hospital and led to 19 men being arrested.

The brawl broke out in London’s famous Trafalgar Square at around 4pm on Thursday, according to ITN.

Three men were stabbed during the battle and are being treated in hospital.

According to the Daily Mail one of the victims is 18 and the other two are 19.

London’s Metropolitan Police arrested 19 men in connection with the incident and are appealing for information.

The gang of youths are believed to be Kosovans in rival gangs who started fighting around Nelson’s Column.

Police suspect the incident may be related to the third anniversary of Kosovo’s independence which was yesterday.

The square is located in central London and commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 which was fought between the British Royal Navy and the combined fleets of the French and Spanish Navy.

It is one of the most famous squares in the world and acts as a focal point for political demonstrations and community gatherings.
