Man injured in Ballyfermot shooting

Locals in the area at the time reported hearing multiple shots.

A MAN HAS been injured in a shooting in Ballyfermot Dublin this evening.

The 20-year-old man was shot at Cherry Orchard Parade at 6.15pm. He sustained a number of gunshot wounds in the incident. He was discovered on a green area close to the rail line at Cherry Orchard.

Locals in the area at the time reported hearing multiple shots fired.

A Dublin Fire Brigade ambulance attended the scene and the man has been taken to St James’ Hospital with what have been described as serious injuries.

Gardai in Ballyfermot are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information to contact them in Ballyfermot on 01 6667200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
