Anyone who witnessed the incident is being asked for information about a Volkswagon Passat seen at the scene.

POLICE IN DERRY have issued an appeal for information over a shooting at a pub last night.

It happened in the car park of the pub on Northland Road at around 8.30pm.

“A man aged in his 30’s suffered an injury to his hand after a firearm was discharged following a function at the premises,” a police statement said.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged a short time later.”

Inspector Tony Moore issued the following statement:

“Detectives are following a definite line of enquiry and are appealing for anyone who noticed a grey coloured Volkswagon Passat in the Northland Road area at the time of the incident to contact Strand Road on 101.”
