Police want to know why three shots were fired into an empty car last night

The incident happened in the Lacken Walk area of Newtownabbey, north of Belfast, last night.

POLICE IN ANTRIM are investigating a shooting incident where three shots were fired at the windscreen of a parked car with no one in it last night.

Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following the incident in the Lacken Walk area just after 11pm.

The PSNI reports that three loud bangs were heard and it was later found that three shots had been fired at the windscreen of a parked car, but no one was in the vehicle at the time.

Detectives have asked anyone with any information about this incident to contact them at Newtownabbey Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

They can also go through Crimestoppers, and speak to them anonymously, by phoning 800 555 111.
