Skeletal remains discovered in Co Donegal

A digger discovered the remains this morning outside Lifford.

GARDAÍ IN CO DONEGAL are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains near Lifford this morning.

A digger operating at Islandmore, about 5km outside Lifford, made the discovery at around 9am today.

The gender of the remains is currently unknown and the remains are still at the scene.

The state pathologist’s office has been notified and a post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.
