SKY SPORTS NEWS presenter Clare Tomlinson has apologised for dropping a bit of a clanger after the All Ireland Final at the weekend.

While reading a report of the match on Sunday, Tomlinson referred to the draw between Dublin and Mayo in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship at Croke Park on Sunday as the “All-England Final”.

As you can imagine, the slip-up was quickly shared across social media, and was greeted with just a bit of incredulity.

Tomlinson has apologised for the gaffe following the outcry, saying it was “a slip of the tongue” at the “end of a long, late shift”.

“Am so mortified,” she tweeted. “In 18 years of live TV, it’s up there with my worst moments.”
