Two men stabbed in afternoon street fight

The men are not thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

TWO MEN WERE stabbed in an incident in Sligo today that is believed to have involved a large amount of people.

Gardaí confirmed that the incident occurred at West Gardens at approximately 5.45pm.

West Gardens is a street in Sligo town.

Two males were brought to Sligo General Hospital with stab wounds. Their injuries are described as not life threatening.

Gardaí are investigating the stabbings but say they have made no arrests as yet.

TheJournal.ie understands that up to 20 people were involved in the incident, with reports that glass bottles and knives were used during the fight.
