Sniffer dog Holly lands €300,000 drug seizure at Dublin Port

A man was arrested after 15 kilos of cannabis was discovered under a fake floor in a truck.

THE FESTIVELY NAMED sniffer dog at Dublin Port helped Revenue officers land a €300,000 haul of cannabis.

On Saturday evening, officers from Revenue’s Customs Service at Dublin Port detained a UK national who attempted to import 15 kilos of cannabis with an estimated street value of €300,000.

Revenue’s sniffer dog Holly, gave a positive reaction to a vehicle that had disembarked a late-evening ferry from Holyhead.

The vehicle was scanned by the Customs mobile x-ray scanner and found to contain a false floor beneath which officers discovered the drugs.

The man was later arrested by gardaí and investigations are continuing.
