So much for a friendly: Ramsey taken to hospital after Soccer Aid charity match

The celebrity chef was flattened by former England striker Teddy Sheringham at Old Trafford.

A PACKED OLD TRAFFORD last night hosted the biannual Soccer Aid match which pits two teams made up of former stars and celebrities ranging from A-list to Z against one another.

England fielded David Seaman, Martin Keown, Kevin Phillips as well as usual suspects Robbie Williams, Paddy McGuinness and John Bishop. For the ‘Rest of the World’, Roy Keane, Jaap Stam, Hernan Crespo and Clarence Seedorf brought a bit of quality and Will Ferrell added some comedic value.

Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno, who will always be remembered for doing this on Soccer a few years back , caught Seaman off his line to open the scoring before Phillips, Wilkes and Sheringham won it for England.

Sheringham was also guilty of a particularly heavy challenge on celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey, which resulted in the one-time Rangers triallist having to be given oxegen, stretchered off the field and taken to hospital for treatment.

Olly Murs, John Bishop, Bradley Walsh and Peter Reid have a gander at the match programme.
