6 things you need to get off your to-do list

And you can use this piece as your checklist.

LISTEN. WE ALL love a bit of procrastination now and again.

Things eventually do get done, don’t they? If you leave the washing-up for another day, it’s not a cardinal sin after all.

However, there are some things that are easy to keep on the long finger – out of sight, out of mind and all that. Here are some things that you (more than likely) need to get sorted out. No pressure…

1. Clean that cupboard under the stairs

We all have one. Whether it’s what the family call the “messy drawer” or the press that seems to inexplicably contain bundles of phone chargers you don’t ever remember accumulating, you’ll feel better for doing a clear-out.

2. Break your bad habit

Thinking of quitting smoking? Or stopping biting your nails? There’s never a better time than tomorrow, we get that, but there has to be a start to it. Make it today.

3. Start the book

Got a pile of books a mile high next to your bed but still find yourself staring at your phone or the telly every evening? Once you start you’ll be flying it. So start!

4. Take up that hobby

Always wanted to try yoga but never quite found the time? Or else maybe you used to knit, but life got in the way of all those scarves? Or maybe it’s five-a-side with the lads that you keep meaning to organise, but never get around to. Make this week the week you treat yourself to finding out if you’ve still got that killer corner kick.

5. Look into a pension

Terrifying stuff – and all too easy to put off. But the sooner you start, the better. Even looking into it is a good start. Assess your options and figure out how to proceed. It’ll be a load off.

6. Getting your eyes tested

When was the last time you went for an eye test? You could be overdue one. You could be wearing glasses or contacts that aren’t the best for your eyes.
