Suspicious device found in vehicle in Ennis

Gardaí found the device after stopping a vehicle at around 1am this morning.

A ‘SUSPICIOUS DEVICE’ was found in a vehicle stopped by gardaí last night.

Gardaí from the Divisional Detective Unit, Ennis have arrested two males in their early twenties following the discovery of the device in a vehicle at Cappa Beg, Barefield, Ennis Co Clare.

The discovery was made after a vehicle was stopped at around 1am this morning by gardaí.

Following the discovery, an explosive ordinance disposal (bomb disposal) team was notified and dealt with the device at the scene.

The two men who were arrested are currently detained at Ennis Garda Station under Sect 30 Offences against the State Act.

Gardaí say that the area in Ennis has been technically examined and is now clear.
