Enda is jetting off to sunny California to woo investors and secure jobs

The Taoiseach will be visiting several companies in both San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

TAOISEACH ENDA KENNY is jetting off this morning to the West Coast of the United States on a three-day trade mission.

The trip will focus on meeting with investors at the San Francisco and Silicon Valley headquarters of several multi-national companies that have set up shop in Ireland.

“Silicon Valley is a vitally important market for Ireland,” Kenny said.

“Overall, 36,000 people work at US West Coast based firms in Ireland.”

He said the visit will be “vital” in “reinforcing existing investor relationships, as well as building new connections” in a bid to secure more jobs.

On the agenda will be a meeting with the Governor of California Jerry Brown under the topic of strengthening trade links, and the opening of Enterprise Ireland Access Silicon Valley, an event aimed at helping Irish companies break into the US.

The Taoiseach will also meet with the Irish and GAA community in San Francisco.
