1.#ADAMS: The PSNI is applying for more time to question Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams in connection with the murder of Jean McConville. Adams has been in custody since Wednesday. McConville’s daughter this morning said that she is ready to name those she believes were involved in the murder.

2.#JOBS: An Irish business outsourcing company will create 350 jobs in Cork. Voxpro started with just six employees, but will have 850 by the end of the year when recruitment is complete.

3.#JAILED: British PR guru Max Clifford will serve at least four years in jail after being found guilty of indecent assault. Clifford was sentenced to eight years in prison today, but maintained his innocence.

4.#CORK: Emergency services are on the scene in Cork, after a car was seen entering the River Lee at Horgan’s Quay. Cork City Fire Brigade say they presuming that there is ‘at least one occupant’.

5.#BANKS: Banks are getting back to normal today, after yesterday’s SEPA holiday. A number of customers reported that wages hadn’t been paid into their banks, but Irish banks say that the situation should be sorted by this evening.
