Well done for getting the nominations and hopefully some awards will come from them. There should be an award for off topic/animal pictures/burning questions. The Daily Edge would be defo win that. I’m not sure of the exact length of time thejournal.ie has been online for but it’s long enough for most sensible people to realise what The Daily Edge part of the site is all about, I feel sad for those that still moan about it.

I’m of to check what products with an unfortunate name has been posted today, the more juvenile the better.

I’m addicted to the journal. It might be my main news source at this point. We recently tried to ascertain what makes it so good, so popular. We reached no conclusion, except that if we do figure it out, we’ve got business gold on our hands.
And as for those complaining? What are you doing on here then! Looking for attention!! Or maybe you’re a bit shy and you actually like it more than you’re letting on?
Keep up the phenomenal work The Journal – and look out for getting your hair pulled and other indicators of playground attraction from Glen and the rest

3- The ‘freely say grossly offensive things about members of the Government’ in the comments section award

5- The bad spelling award (licence-license, practice-practise) award

Great news site, fully deserved nominations. Its my main source of news and boredom alleviation, just a pity its not 24 hours! On a side note, don’t suppose you guys have any plans for your app on the Windows platform? Live tiles with automatically updating scrolling news is awesome, could only be bettered if the journal had it!

I’d say The Journal is more of a news blog than a news website as such. Does it well though.
Bout time they broke a few news stories themselves though.
I dunno, I could be taking a leap here, but maybe hire a few journalists?

Spider awards has and always will be an iffy irrelevance though.

I like the journal but doesn’t deserve an award for anything

a lot of lame articles. some could not even be considered news. this morning on the robbie keane injury story, the journal had ‘more to follow’ at the same time, the sky sports news app had details on the story . the burning question is a time wasting joke. no award merited.
