6 things in life your phone should be able to control by now

Seriously, can some inventor get on this already?

OUR PHONES DO a lot for us – besides making calls and sendings texts of course.

They wake us up in the morning, remind us of special events and can connect us with people all around the world via various apps.

They can even make us look exceptional with just a few simple filters.

But they can’t do everything. So, we’ve rounded up six of the things we wish our phones could do for us – in a perfect world. Just in case some mad scientist is reading this and wants to do the world a favour.

Here’s our list.

1. The weather…

Living in Ireland means a constant battle with the weather.

Whether it’s gale force winds all through winter, or four seasons in one day, the dilemma is never knowing what to wear on any given day and simultaneously never being prepared for any weather.

So imagine if you were always in control of the weather? You’d have the right outfit for every occasion, and would never get caught in a downpour.

How amazing would that be?

2. The traffic…

The traffic is quite possibly the bane of your working life. Sitting in traffic, watching the lights change as minutes of your life go by… There has to be a better way.

And there could be, if your phone could control the traffic for you. Sure, there are apps to help you avoid the traffic, but how about taking care of it altogether?

Let’s get on it, people.

3. Public transport…

Giphy Giphy

How many hours and days of your life have you wasted waiting around for public transport to arrive?

Whether it’s been delayed, making you late for wherever you were going, or you have to make a connection that means a 30 minute wait between trips, it’s something that just needs to be sorted.

Personalised public transport – now that is the dream.

4. The television…

Giphy Giphy

We don’t mean changing the channels. Oh no – you should have something for that already to be fair.

We mean the programming. Imagine being able to line up your favourite programs to watch whenever you want to. No more waiting for new seasons to be released, you get them as soon as you want them.

No more flicking through 200 channels trying to find something to watch. Your phone will sort all that out.

Amazing.

5. People…

Giphy Giphy

Not that you want to bend everyone to your will, oh no – but there are times when it would be nice if people just piped down when you needed them to, or knew when you needed a cup of coffee or a hug.

You totally wouldn’t abuse the privilege and make them cook you dinner every night for the rest of your life, or make them love you or anything, we know.

Don’t we?

6. Time…

Giphy Giphy

Now, this one doesn’t have to be time travel per se, but how nice would it be if you’ve overslept to still get into work on time?

Or have the weekends last four days instead of two?

That would be the life, wouldn’t it?

Scientists – get cracking.

We’re counting on you.

We all want to be in control as much as possible so having an app on your smartphone that allows you to control the heating and hot water when you’re outside the house is definitely the way to go - and it could help you save up to €120* on your heating bill.
