Three arrested over Ballymun murder

Two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Thomas McDonagh in Ballymun, Co Dublin, last month.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Ballymun, Co Dublin, last month.

Thomas McDonagh, 28, was killed at St Margaret’s Park in Ballymun on 3 September.

Gardaí carried out a total of ten searches yesterday morning in north Dublin, north inner city Dublin, Co Meath and Saggart, Co Dublin as part of their investigation into the shooting.

Two males, aged 37 and 25, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

A 27-year-old female has also been arrested.

Gardaí have thanked the public for their help with the investigation so far, and have again appealed to anyone who witnessed people getting into a waiting vehicle on the M50 motorway, adjacent the Water Tower close to the Finglas exit, on the 3 September 2011 between 9.45pm and 10pm to contact them in Ballymun on 01 6664400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
