Three people charged following loyalist flag protest

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been charged with public order offences following a loyalist flag protest in Belfast yesterday.

Two men aged 48 and 47 and a 21-year-old woman were been charged following the protest outside the Seaview football ground in Belfast.

All three are accused of disorderly behaviour and assault on police, while the 47-year-old man is additionally charged with ‘doing a provocative act’.

All three were released on police bail to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on March 13.

Don’t they realise that the world is laughing at them and their ridiculous claims that their Britishness is being attacked and eroded!! As far as I’m concerned, if I’m Irish, nobody can tell me otherwise. If they class themselves as being British, then British is what they are. This has nothing to do with their “Britishness” being eroded, but has more to do with their perceived right of superiority over their Nationalist neighbours. They say that Sinn Féin are being given everything they want. Well Sinn Féin want a united Ireland. Have they been given that? I feel equality with Nationalists just sticks in their throats.

Just yesterday, they protested outside the Crusaders v Cliftonville game and it had to be called off. What does football have to do with their protest? They really are just a bunch of small minded facists.

  It’s pretty clear the majority of NI want to remain in the UK. They have the option to leave the UK do they not? You do realize any part of Ireland can become a new country? Ulster Nationalism? Ulster independent of the UK and ROI? The so-called Loyalist “freedom fighters” had this as one of their plans if Britain abandons them; as most British (the actual ones from mainland Britain) supported a United Ireland.

The british goverment need to set up a plan for for people in ulster who feel this connected to mother england,to be able to return to the mainland. There are cities in england that could do with influx of white british patriots as their numbers are in decline.Its hard to belive after all the years they have been in Ireland that the feel so english.

  We are right minded people Patrick. Not bigots. Bigots hate their neighbours. I do not hate Loyalists, in fact I feel sorry for them. It must be awful to have such hatred bred into you from the day you’re born. Bigots do not respect the Democratic decision taken to fly the flag for 18 days of the year. I have never once read here that you condemn bigotry on all sides Patrick. You only condemn the actions of a disbanded organisation. And regarding your point above, stories like this provide an impartial view of what’s happening in the north.
