Appeal for witnesses after man in 60s killed in Tipperary collision

A male passenger in his 20s was also injured in the crash.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses following a single vehicle collision in Tipperary in which a man in his 60s was killed.

The incident occurred shortly after 4pm today on the M8 motorway, (northbound) near Junction 7 Cahir, when the car left the motorway before colliding with a ditch.

The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger in his 20s was taken by ambulance to Clonmel Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The road is closed and forensic collision investigators have been notified to attend the scene. Traffic diversions are in place.
