TONY BLAIR FINDS himself across the British front pages again, some nine years after leaving the Prime Minister’s job.
The British papers all lead with Blair’s image today in the wake of the publication of the Chilcot Report yesterday.
The report found that Blair led the UK into war in Iraq before diplomatic measures had been exhausted, did not inform his cabinet of developments ahead of the war and did not sufficiently plan the military end of the invasion or life in Iraq post-Saddam Hussein.
Much of the British press, even those whose papers trumpeted the war and accused opposition politicians of being “spineless” or “traitors” are critical of Blair’s decision-making this morning.
