A MAN HAS been arrested and a handgun seized as part of an investigation into the kidnapping of a bank official’s wife in Co Louth in November. Gardaí carried out searches at six houses on the north side of Dublin city. The arrested man is being detained at Drogheda Garda Station.

TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED in connection with a tiger kidnapping two weeks ago have been released. Files are being prepared for the DPP, according to the Irish Examiner. A gang held a bank official’s wife hostage on 11 September, and stole around €300,000 from a west Dublin AIB branch. The woman was released unharmed the following afternoon near Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.

THREE PEOPLE are being quizzed today over the tiger kidnapping of a bank official’s husband and his family in October. A 41-year-old man, 37-year-old woman and a 19-year old are being detained in relation to the incident at Bank of Ireland Inchicore. Two men had previously been questioned.

GARDAÍ HAVE arrested one man in connection with a tiger kidnapping in Dublin in June. The man in his 20s was arrested in Tallaght this morning.
A bank clerk and his flatmate were taken hostage by three men who broke into their house in Deerpack, Tallaght, early on the morning of 22 June. The clerk was forced to take around €200,000 from the Crumlin Cross AIB branch while his friend was driven away by the armed kidnappers.
The bank employee left the money at a specified location for the kidnappers . The kidnapped man was released at lunchtime that day and contacted gardaí.
The following day, the gardaí arrested three men in connection with the incident and recovered €30,000 in cash.
