Sean Sherlock is jetting off to Switzerland to see how he can help Irish companies

More than 200 Irish-based companies are already doing business in the country.

JUNIOR MINISTER SEAN Sherlock is jetting off this morning to see how Irish companies are getting on over in Switzerland.

In the government’s latest trade mission, Sherlock is targeting what he describes as a “very important market for Irish companies”.

“The country has experienced consistently strong economic growth and is home to many Fortune 500 companies,” he said.

Sherlock noted that more than 200 Irish-owned companies are already doing business in Switzerland, and things aren’t going too badly at all:

Growth figures for exports from Irish indigenous companies are particularly impressive, with over 50% growth in their exports to Switzerland in the last three years.

The trade mission includes the main business cities of Geneva, Basel and Zurich, with Sherlock planning on meeting-and-greeting in a number of high-level business meetings.

Last week, Taoiseach Enda Kenny went on his own trade mission, visiting sunny California.

He made make several job announcements during the trip, such as 100 with Yelp announced plans to open up their new EU headquarters in Dublin.
