Panic over train delays for thousands of rugby fans travelling to Cardiff

Overrunning engineering works and a broken down freight train are causing a bit of a nightmare for fans this morning.

IRISH RUGBY FANS trying to get from London to Cardiff for the quarter final match against Argentina are practically tearing their hair out this morning as they fear rail delays could make them late for the big game.

Large queues of fans were reported at Paddington Station in London from early this morning but engineering works overran causing delays of up to 45 minutes on the line. A freight train also broke down on the line, causing further disruption.

As the queue started to snake around the outside of the station, Great Western Railway urged fans not to panic.

The train company has assured fans in the last few minutes that services are on the move again.
