Man due in court over stabbing of father and son in their Tralee home

The injured men came across an intruder in their home.

A 23-YEAR-OLD man will appear before a Kerry court tomorrow, charged in connection with the stabbing of a father and son in Tralee on Tuesday.

The young man remains in garda custody and is due at Caherciveen District Court at 10.30am Thursday.

He was detained in Tralee yesterday, over a day after the incident at Woodbrook Lawn.

A man and his teenage son had to be taken to hospital on Tuesday morning after they were injured in their own home.

They were hurt when they encountered a man trying to break into a parked car outside the property.

Gardaí say the man then walked around the to the back of the house and was confronted by the pair. An altercation occurred resulting in the home owner and his son receiving minor stab wounds.
