Poll: Will Trump see out his four-year term as US president?

The US president has been embroiled in controversy in recent days.

US PRESIDENT DONALD Trump is at the centre of another political firestorm following the firing of FBI director James Comey.

Trump said that Comey wasn’t performing his duties well enough, but the move has sparked controversy among US politicians, primarily because Comey was heading up an investigation into Russia’s ties to his presidential campaign.

The move was labelled as ‘Nixonian’ by some commentators – likening Trump to former US president Richard Nixon, whose presidency was brought down by the scandals uncovered in the Watergate scandal.

Nixon also fired the person investigating into his affairs. Just 10 months later he resigned from the presidency.

In the short four months Trump has been president, his office has been rocked by high-profile resignations, failures to push policy through and the Russia investigation.

According to polls, support among his base is dwindling. However, Trump and the White House blame unbalanced media coverage, the previous Obama administration and partisan politics for the problems his presidency has faced.

But what do you think? Will things calm down or will Trump have problems seeing out his term?

Today we’re asking: Will Trump see out his four-year term as US president?

Poll Results:

No - he won't last four years (13583)
Yes - he'll make the full term (5476)
Don't know (1144)
