Young man arrested in connection with Tuam assault

The victim remains in a serious condition in Beaumont Hospital.

GARDAÍ IN GALWAY have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with an assault that left another young man in hospital with serious head injuries.

The victim, a 27 year old, was transferred to Beaumont Hospital yesterday, where he remains in a serious condition.

The suspect was detained this afternoon in Tuam and is being questioned at a local garda station.

The incident occurred at about 2.30am Saturday on High Street in the town.
