Turkish man charged over deaths of Co Down women

Friends Cathy Dinsmore and Marion Graham were killed while on holidays in Turkey last year.

THE FATHER of a young Turkish man accused of murdering his Irish girlfriend’s mother and her friend while they were on holiday has been charged with their murder.

Cathy Dinsmore, 53, and Marion Graham, 54, both from Co Down, were holidaying in Kusadasi when they were stabbed to death in August 2011. Their remains were discovered in woodland on the outskirts of Izmir, about 100 km away from Kusadasi.

Recep Cetin, who was dating Graham’s teenage daughter at the time of the deaths, was arrested and has been charged with their murder.

Late late year, a judge ordered Cetin undergo bone marrow tests to determine his age. Cetin had claimed to be 17 and wanted his case to be heard in a juvenile court. However, the tests determined he was 22 years of age.

Today the BBC reports that Cetin’s father Eyup Cetin has been arrested and charged with the two murders.
