TWITTER IS PREPARING to announce the introduction of its own photosharing service, according to a report from TechCrunch.
Citing “multiple sources”, the site claims it’s a natural progression for Twitter and shouldn’t really surprise anyone.
The popular photo uploading and sharing service TwitPic recently caused consternation among its users when it announced it had signed a deal with the World Entertainment News Network which allows the agency to sell images posted via TwitPic.
The New York Times reported that although the agency said it was really only interested in photos being posted by high-profile celebrity users, the parameters of the deal are not fully clear.
Earlier this month, Twitter confirmed that it had bought TweetDeck in a deal thought to be worth about $40m (€28m).
