Two arrested over Blanchardstown shooting

Two arrests have been made in connection with a shooting last weekend, in which 50-year-old man was injured.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING A shooting in Dublin earlier this week have arrested two men and carried out a number of searches.

A number of shots were fired through the door of Paidi Óg’s in Mulhuddart in Blanchardstown at about midday on Saturday 2 April. A 50-year-old man was injured in the attack but his wounds are reportedly not life-threatening.

Six houses were searched by gardaí in Blanchardstown and Maynooth yesterday and two men, aged 19 and 22, were arrested. They are currently being detained in Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offenses against the State Act 1939.

A car, which gardaí believe was used in the incident, was recovered on Sunday evening in the north of the city.

Investigations are continuing.
