  • Totally agree, leaving a product with such high demand in the hands of criminals is just ridiculous, they’re simply laughing all the way to the bank. It’s just a pity that our government seem blind to the fact that prohibition doesn’t work. Many states in the U.S. have legalised usage for medicinal use, the industry is regulated making the cannabis safer to use (as it’s not contaminated by greedy drug dealers) and the criminals revenue steam is cut off, instead it’s taxed and the government can benefit from the huge amount of revenue generated.

    • Problem there Eoin, is the fact criminals, are actually criminals. Its all about profit. If left to them, the quality of the end product suffers drastically. Google “sprayed weed”. It will give you some insight into what criminals are doing to bulk up buds, and inevitably profits

    • Not to mention the infamous “Soap Bar Hash”, trust me criminals are the last people you want to be buying drugs from.

  • I am currently on holiday in the Northwest United States and Canada where the largest cash crops being grown are marijuana. I think it’s time we regulated its distribution by taking it from criminals and taxed it to ensure that some control of its use can be established.

  • I really want to know what is €140,000 street value? Is it 4 or 400 plants? What value do they put on a single plant? It’s never mentioned how many plants or the potential yield weight of the crop but only a “street value” which means nothing at all really.

If only TV3 would make a documentry about tenants from hell then people might realise this is not a victimless crime.
