Two charged in Galway publican murder case

Gardaí last night arrested two men in Cork over the murder of John Kenny, who was found dead at his family’s pub in Oughterard last September.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested by gardaí over the murder of  publican and schoolteacher John Kenny in  Galway last year.

The men aged 17 and 36 were arrested by local Gardaí and members of the Regional Support Unit in Cork City last night.  They were taken to Millstreet Garda Station where they were charged in relation to the murder.

They will appear before a special sitting of Galway District Court at 10.30am today.

56-year-old Kenny was found dead at his family’s pub in the village of Oughterard in Galway on 25 September.

Seven arrests had already been made in relation to the investigation.
