Two collisions on M7 Dublin to Limerick Road

AA Roadwatch is warning motorists to exercise caution on the M7 and M8 after heavy hail showers.

DRIVERS ARE BEING URGED to take extra care on the M7 Dublin to Limerick Road following two collisions, one near Moneygall (J23) and the other by Newbridge (J12).

Gardaí said this evening that there were two crashes: one northbound, and the other southbound. Traffic was reduced to one lane in either direction, but has since reopened in full both ways.

It is understood that there were no serious injuries in the crashes, though it is not clear how many vehicles were involved.

AA Roadwatch says that drivers need to exercise extreme care on the M7 and on the M8 Cork/Dublin Road due to heavy hail showers which have made driving conditions dangerous. Motorists are advised to reduce their speed and use dipped headlights.
