Two in court over dissident republican activity

The men, both aged in their 30s, were arrested in Tipperary earlier this week as part on an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.

TWO MEN WILL appear before the Special Criminal Court this evening as part on an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.

The two men were arrested on Thursday 7 February during the operation on the N24 at Cahir, Co Tipperary, as part on an ongoing investigation involving members of the Special Detective Unit, other National Units and local Garda Units.

They will appear before the court at 7pm.

A third man, who was also arrested on Thursday, was released this afternoon without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The three men, all aged in their 30s, were arrested at the scene and a number of explosive devices were seized along with two cars.
