Woman threatened with gun in UCD campus shop raid

The incident happened at the Centra shop on campus on Wednesday evening.

A WOMAN WORKING in a shop on the campus of University College Dublin (UCD) was threatened with a gun during a late-night armed raid.

The incident happened at the Centra store on the UCD campus at Belfield, south Dublin, on Wednesday at about 10pm.

Two men entered the store as the woman was closing the store. One was armed with a handgun, the other with a metal bar.

The two threatened the woman and a male colleague, and demanded that the register be opened.

The raiders then fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash.

No one was physically harmed in the incident.

A Garda spokesperson said that the matter remains under investigation by gardaí at Donnybrook Garda Station.
