Now now, i am sure that the FF/FFg brigade have more than enough expenses. They know EVERYTHING they can claim for, after all they wrote the expense law to suit themselves. Although you could be right, it does seem that the amount of FF/FFG guys caught taking bribes, and involved in corruption may actually lead a trail somewhere near a bank… but i guess we will never know.

If SF ever consider FF as partners, i swear, you will never see a post from me again supporting them. I don’t know if SF will ever have the mandate to go into power. I could not stomach them being in power with FFg or FF. They are one and the same in my view.
Labour and the Independents are the only option that I would support SF going into Government with. Not perfect bed-fellows by any means, but at least some chance of getting a Government that will put its people first.
For that to happen, 2 things need to change in my humble opinion.
Gerry Adams needs to retire as leader of SF in the Dail (He can stay as party president if he wants, i dont see that as an issue), but he cannot be Dail Party leader.
And Gilmore needs to go as well. He has shown the leadership that demonstrates the exact opposite values of what Labour professes to be. He is a traitor to the Labour supporters in Ireland.

When we get the new leaders for both Dail partys, i would support SF/Labour, only then.

That is my direct quote. On top of that, if you read every thread that concerns SF, i have made many pointed attacks on the policies i disagree with. If you want, i can have a dig around and post them, or you can take me at my word.
But, as i have posted many times, when asked the same question you just posed to me, i do on balance support them. I agree that their policies in general make more sense, are less self-serving than anything FF/FFg put out there. I especially like the idea that they would slash all TD salaries and pensions on entering office. That will make them very unpalatable to either FF/FFg or even Labour. But it is the right and moral thing to do.

Now, can i post the same question back to you…. Why did you jump to FFs defense?

You were asked would you leave the SF party if they went into coalition with FF and your answer proceeded as if that was the case. Maybe you should read it and Nokia’s post again.

In any case, one doesn’t actually have to be a paid up member to be a Shinner. But, if you find it insulting to be called a Shinner – my apologies – I totally understand.
